I-CAN E-File
I-CAN TM E-File is
web-based software that allows low-income workers to
electronically file their income taxes and apply for the
EITC online at no charge. The program is written in
English and Spanish. Participants answer questions and
I-CAN!TM E-FILE prepares their tax forms for them
and E-Files the tax returns. A tax return can be
prepared in approximately 30 minutes. You must have
earned income to apply for the EITC. You must know
your last years Adjusted Gross Income to complete the filing
process.
To help low-income wage earners take
advantage of the EITC tax credit, MidPenn Legal Services
will offer free computer access at any of their local
offices. Please contact your local MidPenn office to
schedule an appointment.

Assistance Program Will Open Nov. 2, 2009 and Crisis Program
Will Open Jan. 4, 2010
After the program opens for the season, applications will be
available at county assistance offices, local utility
companies and community service agencies, such as Area
Agencies on Aging or community action agencies. Applications
for LIHEAP cash grants will also be available online at
http://www.compass.state.pa.us
